Jose Ortega Elementary School Umoja After School Program (Grades K-5)
The Jose Ortega Elementary School Umoja After School Program (UASP) is a fully-licensed collaborative program offered by Jose Ortega Elementary School, the School Health Programs Department and the Stonestown Family YMCA. The program, for grades K-5, provides students with a variety of fun activities, field trips, and healthy snacks under the care of professionally trained YMCA employees at the school from 2pm to 6pm Monday through Friday.
The cost for the Umoja After School Program ranges from $230-$428 a month, depending upon the number of days your child is enrolled. In addition, the program has a significant number of fully subsidized ExCEL slots. These slots are reserved for students who commit to attend the program 5 days a week, whose families have financial need, and are identified by teachers as students who would benefit from academic support after school. Scholarship funds are also available for families who demonstrate financial need but cannot attend 5 days per week or do not need the 100 percent subsidy.
For further information about the Umoja After School Program, contact the Jose Ortega After School Site Coordinator Nathan Dennen at (415) 283-6999.
