In order for our kids to thrive, we need to ensure our school maintains programming that sparks their imagination, develops scientific inquiry, and supports their social-emotional health.

We need to raise $189,000, an average of $500 per student, just to fund the above items. No contribution is too small, and if you can give more, please do! Your donation will support your own child’s education as well as the education of all students in our community.

Doesn’t SFUSD fund all our school’s programs? The district pays for some, but not all programs. For instance, SFUSD pays for the science materials, but not dedicated science teachers. SFUSD also does not cover all needed classroom supplies, enrichment resources, and student wellness supports. This is why your support for the Annual Giving Campaign is necessary to operate a robust and supportive education.

Please give as much as you can so that programs like these and so many more can continue at Jose Ortega.

HOW TO CONTRIBUTE

  • Direct Giving You can contribute to JOES Annual Giving Campaign by:

    • Mailing a check payable to Jose Ortega PTA to Jose Ortega PTA, c/o Dora Park, 400 Sargent St, San Francisco, CA 94132

    • The PayPal Giving Fund. You must have a PayPal account to use this, but 100% of your donation will go to our school (use a credit card with no credit card processing fees).

    • Send money with Zelle to joestreasurer@gmail.com

    • Using the Pledge and Donate page from our ParentSquare Fundraiser (you do not need a ParentSquare account).

    • Turn in money to school (to your classroom teacher or the office)

  • Corporate Matching - Double your donation!: Many employers have programs through which they match charitable gifts made by their employees. Click here to see if your company participates. Even if you do not find your employer on this list, be sure to check with your human resources office, personnel department, or community relations office and get one set up! Note: Please email joestreasurer@gmail.com so we know a match should be coming and specify which event the money should be directed to and which student should get credit.

Win Raffle Prizes:

Every family who donates will have their child(ren) entered in our weekly raffle to win gift certificates to: BookShop West Portal, Bluehouse Coffee, Mozzarella di Bufala, and Ambrosia Bakery. If you donate online, please be sure to email JoesAnnualGiving@gmail.com with your child(ren)'s name(s) so we can enter them in the raffle.

Class Participation Prize:

Popcorn and Movie Party for every class with 50% or more participation!

Tax Deductibility

Jose Ortega PTA is an IRC Sec. 501(c)(3) nonprofit (tax ID # 94-3190930), so all donations are fully tax-deductible.

Remember, the deadline for making charitable donations for the current tax year is December 31.
