Please join in a fun day of planting, weeding and watering…to beautify and greenify our school!!! Any amount of time helps. Please bring a snack to share if you can.
Planting Flowers
Our greening days are keeping the school beautiful. A big thank you to New Start Ministries for sending out hard working high school students to help us dig and plant beds! Please come to any of our Saturday greening work parties noted on the calendar to help improve the school grounds.
New Start Ministries' high schoolers
The PTA grant team also won a grant for rain harvesting barrels which are scheduled to be installed in January 2011. The students will then be able to water their planter boxes using rain water.
The classrooms are using their new planter beds to grow vegetables, herbs, and flowers. The school gardens are being used by the nutritionist to teach about the food cycle from farm to table and by the teachers as part of the science curriculum.
