The Purposes of the Parent Teacher Association

  • To promote the welfare of the children and youth in home, school, community, and place of worship.
  • To raise the standards of home life.
  • To secure adequate laws for the care and protection of children and youth.
  • To bring into closer relation home and school, that parents and teachers may cooperate intelligently in the education of children and youth.
  • To develop between educators and the general public such united efforts as will secure for all children and youth the highest advantages in physical, mental, social, and spiritual education.

Volunteers

The PTA needs volunteers for the following:

  • Lunch / recess duty from 11:00-11:45 for Grade K, 11:30-12:15 for Grades 1-2, and 12:00-12:45 for Grades 2/3, 4 and 5.  In the cafeteria, assist the students during lunch and help them line up for composting and recycling. On the play yard, help supervise kickball and basketball games, turn the jump rope and help out near the play structure. Sign up for a regular day each week or just spend your day off helping the kids.
  • Barcoding Library Books – The librarian needs help from any volunteers who have had barcoding/cataloging experience or who have computer experience and would like to learn how to barcode the books. Additionally, she needs help from volunteers who can read Chinese and help translate Chinese book titles to English.
